We provide added value to your annual fire extinguisher maintenance checks by providing you and your staff with 'FREE' of charge fire extinguisher instructions. This is normally carried out during your annual maintenance where the maintenance technician will educate your staff by demonstrating the following key points with full explanations:

  • Why are fire extinguishers now red?
  • How to identify different types of extinguishers at a glance
  • How to choose the correct extinguisher - quickly
  • Demonstrate the correct way to lift & carry the chosen extinguisher
  • The quickest way to prepare the extinguisher for use
  • The way to operate the fire extinguisher(s)
  • The correct way to deploy fire blankets (if appropriate)
  • How to use the fire extinguisher(s) & blankets for maximum effect
  • Explanation of the fire triangle
  • The chemical reactions taking place during extinction
  • What to expect-extinguishing the fire
  • The fire is out....or is it?
  • Removal of the source of fire
  • The classes of fire
  • The importance of choosing the correct fire appliance

The above key points can be demonstrated both indoors or outdoors at your convenience and normally lasts around 10-15 minutes depending on any questions the candidates may have, if the maintenance technician discovers any water fire extinguisher(s) on your premises that require discharge testing then we will demonstrate this to your staff outdoors, allowing your staff the opportunity to operate and use the extinguisher to become a little familiar.

Following the free instruction each participant will receive a certificate of instruction, this document can then be added to your fire management policy which will aid all business owners in the up-keep of their legal obligations under the new fire safety law which requires training records of all staff to be provided and kept within their fire risk assessment. If you wish to take advantage of this free training package please contact us today to arrange.

If you do not wish to change fire extinguisher maintenance contractors then simply ask your current service provider to provide the free training for your staff, if they don't provide the service or try to charge you then it may be time to think about changing providers, after all customer service is our priority.
